The METMA Congress (Space-Time Statistical Modeling) has been held every two years for the last nineteen years. The conferences have been held in different European countries, with Spain being the last host at the University of Lleida in 2022.

Both the participation in the workshops and the scientific quality of the contributions have grown substantially since the first METMA, which is why the first METMA-LATAM Congress ( Space-Time Statistical Modeling - Latin America) is launched in 2023. Like METMA, its objective is to promote the development and application of spatial, temporal, and mainly spatio-temporal statistical methods to different fields related to the environment. The general objective is to bring together professionals and researchers from different areas and countries worldwide, especially from Latin America.

The first version of METMA-LATAM will be held in Quito – Ecuador. The conference will take place at Escuela Politécnica Nacional. The scientific program features sessions covering topics on the latest developments in theory, methods, and applications. Contributed papers and posters are welcome. Interdisciplinary actions to solve environmental problems are very welcome too.

There will be a special issue in the Revista Politécnica, which is indexed in SCOPUS/SIMAGO, where all oral contributions may participate, of course under a regular review process.
  • The format for sending to the Revista Politécnica can be download here.
  • The details for the publicacton in Revista Politécnica can be found here

We hope to see you here, enjoying the conference and the city!
